Ko Chang (or Koh Chang), on the east coast of Thailand, is the country’s third largest island after Phuket and Ko Samui. The Thai word “Chang” means elephant, so its name is “Elephant Island.” It is the perfect name for this island as it is shaped like an elephant head.

Koh Chang Island is in Thailand’s Trat province near the Cambodian border. It is one of 52 islands in Mu Ko Chang National Park.

We first visited Ko Chang in 2013 when we celebrated Christmas here with friends and had a wonderful time. It took us ten years (!!) to return (which now seems ridiculously long).
