Our trip to Fuerteventura was our third holiday to the Canary Islands in recent years. And from our experiences in Lanzarote and Gran Canaria, we weren’t expecting to come across any particularly memorable restaurants.

The food in the Canary Islands is good. You’ll find a lot of traditional Spanish dishes, seafood, tapas, and cheeses. And while we had plenty of great dinners out in the other two islands, neither warranted a full blog dedicated to the places we ate. So we were pleasantly surprised to find just how many great bars and restaurants there were to choose from in Fuerteventura.

It’s likely that the surf culture, which also brings with it a more lively music scene than the other Canary Islands, could contribute to the good food options. There are lots of cute cafes, cocktail bars, and music venues. And we noticed more varieties of cuisines in Corralejo than we had in Lanzarote or Gran Canaria.
