As a result of my new found like (or love) of Scotland’s capital, I want to offer up a list of the best things to do in Edinburgh.

didn’t love — or even really like — Edinburgh the first time I visited.

But I believe in second chances.

So when I returned in January 2022, deep in winter and in the middle of the Omicron wave, I was pleasantly surprised by how much the city won me over. After short stays in January 2024 and again toward the end of that year, Scotland’s capital has definitely grown on me.

I may even love it. With this newfound appreciation, I’m finally ready to share my take on the best things to do in Edinburgh — the experiences, corners, and surprises that made me warm up to this city in a big way.
